Lern Deutsch! has no accounts, no advertising, and no purchases. We never collect your name, email address, location, contacts, or any other personal information. Your learning progress is stored only on your device, and deleting the app deletes it.
To understand which features are used and how to improve the app, we collect anonymous usage statistics via PostHog, hosted in the European Union. This includes which screens are opened, feature-usage events (for example, that a quiz was completed and its score), device model, operating system version, app version, and country. These events are grouped under a randomly generated identifier that is not connected to you or to any account, is not shared with anyone else, and is never used for advertising or for tracking you across other apps or websites. Nothing you type, say, or save in the app is included in analytics.
The speaking practice and listen features use the microphone and Apple’s built-in iOS speech recognition, with your permission. Speech is processed by your device (or by Apple, per Apple’s own terms); the app does not record, store, or transmit your audio, and transcripts never leave your device.
